Time to find new engines of growth
As energy consumption increases around the world, the depletion of fossil fuels is accelerating. With the planet’s existing industrial infrastructure, we can no longer continue destroying the environment and still expect further economic growth. Humanity is faced with the paradox of dealing with diminishingresources, while requiring ever increasing supplies of energy and other resources to satisfy mankind’s insatiable demand for economic growth.
Confronted with energy and other resources crises of increasing severity, the world should seek to find new growth engines by developing green technologies.
