Low Carbon Green Growth Expo 2010 held in Seoul from October 6

Low Carbon Green Growth Expo 2010’ is held at COEX in Seoul from October 6 to 8 with participation by companies, civic groups, government agencies, universities and the public.

Under the slogan of ‘Me First, 2030 Green Korea’ ? a pan-national slogan for 30% greenhouse gas emission reductions by 2020 by promoting green industry and practicing green lifestyle ? about 175 companies and groups seek for solution to achieve low carbon green growth society.

Hosted by the Ministry of Environment and organized by the Korean Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and the Korea Economic Daily, the expo will introduce the way to practice green lifestyle by each field including green products, green distribution/transport/service, green construction(green home) and green technology/energy(green infrastructure).

In particular, Green Plus Theme Zone, which is comprised of global carbon product booth, eco-wedding, eco-cooking and green school, will become an opportunity to learn about practicing green lifestyle in an easier way.

In addition, diverse concurrent conferences and events will be held by the Ministry of Environment and the Presidential Committee on Green Growth, etc. On October 6, the Ministry of Environment holds ‘Job & Education Festival’ to support securing outstanding workforce and creating jobs. Also, green consumption forum will be held to seek the way to promote green consumption with the participation by minister of environment, lawmakers, consumers and journalists. The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Clinton Climate Initiative jointly hold an ‘international seminar on sustainable eco-friendly city development’ to share domestic and international cases on city development. The Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry hold ‘Korea-Japan environmental management and carbon footprint workshop’ to discuss the trend of developing LCI (Life Cycle Inventory) Database in the East Asian region.

As the expo is planned to be a low-carbon event, products with e-mark will be used for PR materials and the whole used placards will be collected by the cooperation with eco-bag manufacturers, minimizing wastes caused by the event.
