The Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute jointly operate ‘Future Green Technology Forum’ through online (www.futuregreen.or.kr) and offline system. The forum aims at building a system by which new green technology items can be constantly provided so that environmental technology can be properly developed.
The forum will provide the following functions:
* Predicting environmental issues of the future and developing technology and policies for solving the issues
* Encouraging experts from diverse fields to participate in the forum so as to approach environmental issues from diverse aspects and devise substantial measures to solve them
In particular, green technology items, which are developed through this forum, will be used for technology development project or accumulated as item bank. At the 1st open forum, which will be held at Seoul Palace Hotel on August 26, 2010, Park Young-suk from UN Future Forum and Shon Seok-ho from the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning will give a lecture on role and vision of environmental R&D in solving expected environmental issues.
The Ministry of Environment plans to constantly operate the forum to build systematic planning system for environmental R&D and continuously collect opinions on solving environmental issues, increasing participation of the public in making environmental policies.
