SEOUL (Dow Jones)–South Korea’s Posco (005490.SE) said Wednesday it will invest KRW8.5 trillion ($7.4 billion) in green businesses by 2020 in line with the government’s move to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 30% by then.
Posco aims for sales of KRW10 trillion from an investment worth KRW7 trillion in renewable energy businesses such as fuel cells, wind power generation and recycling waste into fuel, the company said in a statement.
The remaining KRW1.5 trillion will be spent on energy conservation and new technology, it said. -By Kyong-Ae Choi,
