Former prime minister Han Seung-soo has been chairman since its establishment, and Richard Samans, managing director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Foundation, was appointed director.?
The President, currently visiting Denmark, attended the GGGI’s opening ceremony at the Technical University of Denmark with Prince Frederik of Denmark, Richard Samans of the World Economic Forum and Danish Minister for Climate and Energy Lykke Friis.
During the ceremony, The President said, “Korea and Denmark can gain influence worldwide through cooperation. Australia and Germany have also indicated their interest in participating in GGGI.”
He continued, “I believe that countries all around the world will participate in this research together. The beginnings of GGGI will seem small, but the results of what we do will turn out great in the end.”
GGGI signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Danish government for green growth support in developing countries. It also signed a MOU with Danfoss, the world’s leading company in eco-friendly heating systems.
